Bastien of the City - TV pilot

I wrote my first-ever TV comedy pilot based on a hopelessly proud walking tour guide set in my home city of Chelmsford - a place quoted by Charles Dickens as "the dullest, most stupid place on earth."

Bastien of the City is based on his main character, Seb, a failing walking tour guide whose business is about to get shut down. Seb will go to obscene lengths to get his business back on top, and to get awarded the keys to the city by the cunning mayor, which will unlock a door to the local prison where his manipulating dad resides.

This absurdist comedy features the fast-paced editing of Edgar Wright's 90s hit Spaced, unusual local characters reminiscent of The League of Gentlemen, and a touch of surrealism inspired by The Mighty Boosh.

So if you're up for reading a script that takes crazy twists at every tour stop, a local artist who claims to be Banksy's twin brother and a crazy seagull tamer, then give me a shout.
