Water isn’t the most exciting thing to sell. However, getting a British icon involved could make things a lot more interesting.
​
To encourage the UK to ditch plastic water bottles and instead use a BRITA filter, I came up with the idea to get the beloved comedian and brand ambassador, Joanna Lumley, to tell the UK what she really thinks about single-use plastic.
Channelling Lumley's 'Absolutely Fabulous' alter ego, Patsy Stone, a short social rant was made that brought the infamous character back to life to deliver a 'clear' and 'unfiltered' message that broke the internet.
The work was picked up by the BBC and Sky News and was BRITA’s best-performing social content to date by 10x.

With a host of stars organically sharing the content, it became a huge talking point online with 2.2 million views and a reach of over 9 million.
